FIRST-YEAR CONCORDIA STUDENTS VOLUNTEER
THROUGH HANDS FOR CHANGE
     
    Students at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., will participate in the 15th annual Hands for Change outreach event on Monday, Aug. 25, during new student orientation week. Concordia will send hundreds of volunteers out into the Fargo-Moorhead community to participate in 43 different service projects.
    Activities will begin with a send-off ceremony at 8:30 a.m. at the bell tower (rain site Memorial Auditorium). Barry Nelson, executive director for Metro Youth Partnership will speak at the opening ceremony.
    Students will arrive at various service sites at approximately 9:15 a.m. and work until 11:30 when they will return to campus for lunch. At that time they will discuss their service-learning experiences. The 2008 Hands for Change coordinator Maria Anderson, Leah Enger, the Orientation chair and Dr. Mark Krejci, dean of the college will speak at the closing ceremony at 2:15 p.m.
