MEDIA OPPORTUNITY:
CONCORDIA TO SHOW CAMPUS WHAT THEY RECYCLE IN A WEEK
Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., students will be leaving “trash” on the lawn this week as part of a recycling demonstration. The week-long recycling event will be held in conjunction with the Faith, Reason and World Affairs Symposium “Changing with the Climate: How Fast, How Far?” The recycling event begins Thursday, Sept. 18 and runs through Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Students will be collecting recyclables from all the buildings on campus and placing them in designated bins north of the bell tower. As the recycling accumulates, the recycling bins will be sealed and left on the lawn and sidewalk to demonstrate how much the campus can reuse in a week.
There will be a media opportunity from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19 at the recycling site – north of the bell tower. A spokesperson involved in organizing the demonstration will be on hand from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. At 10 a.m., students will be bringing recyclables collected from the buildings to deposit at the site.
On Thursday, Sept. 25 MinnKota recycling will pick up all the recyclables, which include: glass, aluminum, office paper, newspaper, magazines, and cardboard.
