F/M COMMUNVERSITY PRESENTS QUILTERS ROAD TRIP
Quilters go on the road with Kim Baird in F/M Communiversity’s “Quilt Lover’s Educational Road Trip.” Baird, a graduate of the University of Nebraska’s innovative Quilt Studies program, will provide an overview of quilt history en route to the International Quilt Study Center in Lincoln, Neb., Nov. 14-16.
The Study Center holds 2300 quilts from 24 countries in a new $12 million museum facility. Participants will also see “Schoolhouse Quilts—Old and New” in the HIllestad Gallery on the university’s campus and view “CrazyQuilts” at the Museum of Nebraska History.
Sign up now to take this fall bus trip and learn about quilting along the way. Bring a quilt to show and discuss and learn about dating, care, display and storage. Registrations are limited and must be received by noon, Oct. 31. The fee is $199 and includes transportation, triple-occupancy lodging and exhibit fees. The tour will also include little “shopping stops” along the way.
For more information or to register go to www.fmcommuniversity.org or call the F/M Communiversity office at (218) 299-3438.
