CONCORDIA TO PRESENT HOMECOMING CONCERT

    Concordia College will present a Homecoming concert at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11 in Memorial Auditorium. The concert, featuring The Concordia Choir, The Concordia College Orchestra and The Concordia College Band, will be held in conjunction with Homecoming 2008, “Memories Together Cobbers Forever,” on the Moorhead, Minn. campus.
    The Concordia College Orchestra will perform under the direction of Bruce Houglum. The ensemble will perform “Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla,” “Scheherazade, Op. 35” and “Hoe-Down” from Rodeo.
    The Concordia College Band, under the direction of Dr. Scott A. Jones, will perform pieces such as “Pas Redoublé” by composer Camille Saint-Saens and Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Little Fugue in G Minor, BWV 578.”
    The Concordia College Choir directed by Dr. René Clausen will perform pieces such as “There is a Balm in Gilead” arranged by Clausen and “Singet dem Herren ein neues Lied” composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. The alumni choir will perform selections including “King of Love” and “Beautiful Savior.”
    The concert is free and open to the public.
