CONCORDIA TO PRESENT ORCHESTRA HOME CONCERT
Concordia College will present The Concordia College Orchestra Fall Concert at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1 in Memorial Auditorium. The Orchestra, conducted by Bruce Houglum, will be joined by the Concordia College Symphonia, which is conducted by Jane Linde-Capistran.
The concert will feature works by composers Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Mikhail Glinka, Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov and Aaron Copland, along with selections from “The Phantom of the Opera” by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
One of the college’s most distinctive performing groups, The Concordia College Orchestra is an outstanding 100-member symphony orchestra that has earned national and international acclaim. The Symphonia, Concordia’s chamber orchestra, performs concerts throughout the year, including performances with the jazz ensembles and during Chapel.
The concert is free and open to the public.
